I just read an article about a lady whose computer was deluged by adware. It was such a problem that she spent thousands of dollars on computer repair fees to try to clean up her computer. The said thing is that she could have restored her computer by herself in less than a few hours and for free.

Somewhere down the line, there will be problems with your computer (adware, spyware, viruses, good software gone bad, etc,). Obviously, you should use protection software to prevent as much as possible. However, you will most likely eventually find yourself in a mess. Relax! Don’t worry.

Don’t spend thousands of dollars on a computer guy to fix your computer if it breaks down. The first rule of thumb is, don’t spend more than $300, which would buy you a new computer today. But don't throw away your computer yet — there is another solution.

If you are unable to access programs like MS Office and Quicken you may have a hardware problem, or your data may be so corrupted that you may have to call in a computer expert to get to it - and he may not be able to access it in a cost effective way. Decide ahead of time how much your data is worth to you and find out how much you will pay the expert.

If you can still access your data, try the following:

First, back up all the saved data from programs like MS Office and Quicken. Make sure you have the original program discs because later you will need to reload these programs, and any backed up data. Then, just reload your Windows XP operating system (or upgrade to Windows XP). Bypass any warnings it gives you about your existing data. It will wipe your computer clean and you can start again. Go online and load the FREE security programs listed below. Then load the programs you wish to re-install and then their backed up data. Your computer will run like brand new (or better!). Warning! You will lose everything on your computer when you install Windows XP, and all the programs have to be re-loaded.

Here is the plan.

1) Starting now if it is not too late, you should be saving your important files and data to a disk or better yet to an online file folder. The online file folder sign-up can be found in the godaddy e-mail area. This way your files and data are safer. I enjoy accessing my files remotely from any computer as well. You should also neatly save and organize your important software so it is easy to reload.

2) Reload or load for the first time Windows XP Home edition or Professional.

3) Now download for FREE Microsoft Defender Anti-Spyware from microsoft.com.

4) Now download for FREE Avast Anti-virus.

These three work great together. You can find great information on in the free stuff forum at dealking.com. They list many of the above solutions.

I even suggest for older computers that are running sluggishly to load Windows XP right now to clean it up your system and make it work faster - before problems occur. Your computer will work like new. CAUTION: You will lose everything when you re-load the Windows XP on you computer, but that is good if you have a bunch of junk. SAVE YOUR IMPORTANT ITEMS FIRST.

I did the above on 2 older Dells. One was plagued by an overload of junk and adware that popped up constantly. The other was just old and slow. I loaded the new Windows XP and started from scratch, and they work even better than the brand new Dells at my office that are loaded with a paid McAfee security package. McAfee seems to try to trick you into paying twice for the subscription, but the above solution is free and does the same thing.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert on any of the above, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night. For hardware problems or to restore data, you may need a computer guy (expert). Also, you may have a computer guy who is very cost effective and efficient (they are around), but there are just as many that spend to much time and money (yours) to fix something their way.

Many of the financial reports that Money produces can also be shown in a chart or graph format. Sometimes, Money will by default produce a graphical version of a report.

However, you can also create a graphical version of a report—a chart, in other words— by using the chart buttons, which appear in the bottom left corner of any report.

For example, if you’ve just produced a Microsoft Money Where The Money Goes report and you look in the lower left corner of the report, you will see buttons that resemble charts and graphs. The button that is

second from the left might show a bar chart. The button that is third from the left might show a line chart. The button that is fourth from the left might show a pie chart, and so forth.

Producing a Chart or Graph

You can use these buttons to regenerate a report as a graph. Predictably, the bar chart

button produces the equivalent bar chart version of a report. The line chart button

produces the line chart version of a report, and the pie chart button produces the pie chart version of a report.

NOTE The far left button in the lower left corner of the report window is the Report

button. Click it to regenerate the Money report into the traditional tabular report format.

Print a paper copy of chart

You can print the chart shown in the Money Chart Or Report window simply

by choosing the File menu’s Print command. Money then displays either the Print

Report dialog box or the Print Chart dialog box. To print the chart, use the dialog box to indicate how many copies of the chart you want and at what print quality you want the chart produced. Then click the OK button.

In some cases, Money also allows you to specify whether you want to print all the pages or only a range of pages.

After you click the OK button, Money sends a copy of the report to your printer and

directs your printer to produce the report.

Customizing a Chart Using the Chart Tab

At the top of every chart or report window is a Customize button. If you click the Customize button, Microsoft Money displays the Customize dialog box. You click its Chart tab to make changes to a chart.

The Chart tab provides a series of option buttons you can use to customize the

appearance of a chart. The View As option buttons, for example, let you specify whether the information shown in the window should appear as a report, a line chart, a pie chart, or a bar chart. The Pie Labels option buttons, which are available only for pie charts, let you specify whether Money should display percentages

or dollar amounts next to the slices it creates. Beneath these two sets of option buttons, Money displays check boxes that let you indicate whether it should show a three-dimensional version of the chart and whether or not Money should include gridlines. The Show Legend box lets you select the location for the chart legend.

Entering Data And Editing Cells In Microsoft Excel

Information is entered into an Excel worksheet by modifying the cells within that sheet. The process is pretty much the same regardless of whether you are entering information into empty cells or cells that already contain data. To enter information into an empty cell, simply activate the cell and then begin typing. Once you finish typing you may do one of two things: you can either cancel, which will abandon the changes you’ve made to the cell; or you can confirm the changes you’ve made. To confirm your changes, you can either click on the Enter button to the left of the formula bar or press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Pressing the Enter key achieves two things: it confirms your data entry and, usually, moves you down one cell. This is normally fairly convenient. However Excel allows you to decide what actually happens when you press the Enter key. To do so, click on the Office button and choose Excel options. On the left of the dialog box, click the advanced Tab to display "Editing Options”. You have two options: either choose a direction (”down”, “right”, “up” or “left”); or, simply deactivate the movement. This will mean that, whenever you input data and press the Enter key, the information goes into the cell but the cell stays active and you don't move down one cell.

If you want to enter data into several cells, Excel allows you to highlight a range of cells and then to navigate between the highlighted cells, entering information as you move. For example, if you are filling out an invoice, you can select a matrix of cells under the “quantity”, “description” and “unit price” columns. After you've entered the quantity, you can then press the Tab key on the keyboard to move to the “description” column. You then press Tab again to move the “price” column, and so on.

When you reach the last column of the highlighted matrix of cells, pressing Tab moves us to the second highlighted row. Whey you reach the bottom right of the selection, if you continue to press Tab, you move back to the top left once more. Excel even allows you to move backward by pressing Shift and Tab.

As an alternative to moving right and then down, you can move down first and then to the right. To do this, press the Enter key instead of the Tab key. Pressing Shift and Enter allows you to move in reverse: up and then to the left.

There are two ways of inputting information into a cell that already contains information. Firstly, you can simply type a new value. Activate the cell; type the value and then press the Enter key. Secondly, you can edit the value, either by double-clicking on the cell and making your changes directly within the cell; or by activating the cell and making your changes in the formula bar.http://online-typingwork.blogspot.com

These new features dictate change in GP 10.0 programming and custom development. If you are using Great Plains since earlier versions: 9.0, 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5 or 5.0 and your company ERP deploys tailored Great Plains business logic, chances are high that customized logic was programmed in Great Plains Dexterity. Let's begin with Dex modifications overview for GP version 10.0:

1. Microsoft Dexterity 10.0. Surprisingly enough, but Dex is still similar to its old versions, however if you are Dexterity programmer you have to adapt your Dex code to new interface features: icons, color schema, etc. Here we suggest, that at this time there is no need to imitate Microsoft Vista and Office interface compliance: drop down menus, navigation arrows.
